IV. Acts of soliciting donations against
Plaintiff A A. Based on submitted evidence, the summary of the Nara Culture center is as follows: 1. U (person) formally became a believer of the Defendant around January 1989 and participated in various activities there from. These included: (1) work in selling delicacies (food) after joining a micro army (group of the Defendant?) from January 1991; (2) From June 1991, work in home sales of Buddhist altars and other items after joining the "Kyoiku Tenpo" (Education Shop) or otherwise called "Shin Butsu Miroku Do" located in Osaka City; and (3) From September 1991, after joining the South Nara church district where the main video center in Nara City is located, undertook - as missionary work geared to women for a new corps) the role of soliciting women and bringing them to video centers; and (4) From January 1992, after joining theNorth church district of Nara City, served as organizer for missionary work and child care services for women at the Nara Culture center. 2. The following describes the specific methods of missionary activities carried out on women as recorded in the statement and notes of witness U: a. Approach: Praise the prospective believers, have her talk about her inner feelings and exchange inner thoughts; b. Palmistry: Look at the hand of the prospective believer and give praise. Show her that she is the central person, the one appointed by her ancestors. In conversation with her, talk about her anxieties and needs. c. Name Analysis: praise the woman, and in conversation with her grasp deeply her needs and fears. On the name analysis paper, records the number of strokes in her name ( in each of the Chinese characters - There are usually 2-5 Chinese characters in a person's name) and the total sum of thestrokes. Then add both of these numerical values and connect this sum with the woman's fate line, her destiny of sexual relations, her destiny for murder and so on. Record this information in red ink on the paper and following the rules for name analysis. In analysing the name, even if a badresult does not appear, make the result show that her destiny is bad and connect this ill fate with her needs. To make certain the degree to which she has understood, show her concrete examples that her fate in life is badby citing how acts of her ancestors have influenced her own childhood. Tell her of the example of Okubo Kiyoshi who committed rape repeatedly. d. Turning Point Talk: Say things like " About your good fortune and way to happiness - although your family was full of prosperity three or four generations ago your fortune today has declined since then - you are now ata turning point when both fortunes are changing."; "The fortune of your family which is declining due to your (ill) fortune, can improve"; "The turning point never comes - now - you must do something"; and "If you do not do something now, your family line will die out." e. Family Tree: Have the prospective believer write down her family tree for about three generational, make her realise that problems such as sickness and divorce are a part of fate and make her aware that her ill fate must be resolved. 3. All methods stated in the above are common to methods of soliciting donations carried out throughout Japan by the Defendant. 4. In addition, on the Nara Culture Center pamphlet, under the large headline "Michitarita Jinsei no Tame ni" (For an over flowing (Full) Life), information concerning the contents of the study courses on life, destiny, true love, education, work, and the world are introduced. On the Nara Culture Center questionnaire post card, a cultural lecture on how a family home should be is introduced. On either of the materials, that the sponsoring organization is a religious organization is not recorded, nor is the name of the Defendant. |
